The history has already entered the year of 2003 ,which is full of excitement and competition. The wheel of innovation has been turning fast as never before. Kaiyuan institute of Arabic , as an outstanding  “surfrider” on the tide of the times, with the help and support of Kaiyuan  mosque and Muslims, with incredible passion and extraordinary ability, with realistic attitude towards working, it presents features of Muslim education.

    While the modernized teaching complex, which combines teaching and research with student accommodation as a whole, was erected on the ground, the institute opened its arms to high school graduates from all over the country with a new posture.

    At the turning point of centuries, we observed the opportunities and analyzed the situations ,and then ambitiously put forward the following points:

    We have been rigidly taking firm steps forward and the institute has achieved significant breakthroughs in some respects.

    In future we will keep the door of the institute widely open as before to take in students from all around the country, and  pave the way for being a famous institute and establish a brand name for “ institute of Arabic”, and cooperate with other outstanding institutes to cultivate talented Muslims in this E-era.

    Kaiyuan institute of Arabic is located in Kaiyuan city , a beautiful key town of southern Yunnan province. Our institute was previously a  mosque school  founded  in 1979, and then was renamed “Kaiyuan institute of Arabic” approved by the local government in July 1999. Currently ,there are 4  teaching classes and about 120 students in the institute. The students come not only from all around the Yunnan province, but also from other 17 provinces over the country such as : Xinjiang,

    Heilongjiang, Qinghai, Hebei, Shandong, Guangxi, Hubei, Hunan, Ningxia, Sichuan, Hainan, Anhui ,etc. There is a teaching complex which can hold up to 6 teaching classes. There are 2 accommodation buildings for students, one library of about 70 square meters, one computer room of 20 computers, and one multifunctional hall where all meetings and academic researches are held.

    The networks of information in terms of internet, campus and telephone provided by the institute       build a multi-access bridge of information , enabling the teachers and students to freely read and learn something through this platform and surf on the net full of beautiful sites to absorb abundant nutriment.

    The campus newspaper, “Islamic Garden” established on the new year’s day of 2000, has been published 27 issues so far. Its pages were increased from 4 in the first issue to 12 in the current ones. Its contents were knowledgeable, interesting and readable, full of the spirit of the times and deep thoughts. It was recognized by Muslims around the country, its circulation was increased from initial 500 to current 13500, its readers were all around the country in about 30 provinces / cities / autonomous regions.

    In Noverber 2000, the institute established its own website “ Kaiyuan institute of Arabic” introducing itself to the world, so that the teaching quality and capability can be tested transparently. The networking increases the speed of innovation of concepts and provides endless motive power for the rapid, continuing and comprehensive development of the institute.

    The architectural design of the old style roof of the mosque ,which is classic and elegant without being fancy, reveals the richness of Islamic taste. Two of the teachers’ flats ,which decorated by the green trees and red flowers between the buildings, spills a strong cultural atmosphere .Two of the courtyards provide a wide space for the students’  life. The clean and spiritual mosque represents the idea and sense of “ environment cultivates people” in any respects.

The success of building up a famous institute basically depends on hard-working.

    Ligu Ma, in his mid 30’s, was employed by Kaiyuan mosque as the president of the institute after he came back from abroad in 1997. He used to study in and then graduated from Imam University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia . and then continued to study Arabic literature for a master degree in Jinnah University in Pakistan. After coming back from abroad, he became fully in charge of tasks of the institute. After considering the advanced experience of the management of other countries in regard to religion and education, he put forward successively the following : concept of “ cultivating people in our own way”, the strategy of administration , “ to be a member of the institute and to promote the spirit of the institute” ,etc. By the quick and flexible way of thinking and the advanced concepts, in less than five years during his presidency,  presidents and administrators from nearly 30 mosques / religious institutes / institutes of Arabic inside and outside the province,  were attracted to visit the institute respectfully.

    President Ma has his principle of management , which is “ the bigger show you can perform, the bigger stage I will prepare for you”;  “ people with ability and morality should be appointed, educational innovations are welcomed and appreciated”.

    Our institute was one of the first few mosque schools after the Party’s ethnic and religious polices were implemented in 1979, and then was renamed “Kaiyuan institute of Arabic” after review and approval by the Kaiyuan city government.

    Our institute is the only one that has its own website and campus newspaper among the institutes of Arabic and mosque schools around the country, therefore, we are entitled to be “Kaiyuan institute of Arabic on the internet”.

    During the 3 years since the founding of the institute, we have already introduced and sent 17 students to study abroad, among them, there are 3 to Saudi Arabia, 1 to Yemen, 5 to Syria, 5 to Pakistan, 2 to Iran and 1 to Thailand.

    We have an excellent teaching team of young and middle-aged teachers:

    One of them is a postgraduate holding a Bachelor’s degree from Saudi Arabia and a Master’s degree from Pakistan, another is a famous Imam from Gansu province, another is a graduate from a institute in Pakistan, three of them are graduates from institutes in Syria. We also employ professionals from national universities as relief teachers to teach English , Chinese, computer, etc. All of them are young and middle-aged teachers full of energy.

    We have a young president who, intending educational innovation , and a leading group , which is united, progressive and efficient. Our mosque committee and Muslim communities , our president, our teachers and  our spirit of dedication lay out the most basic key elements of a famous institute.

Characters of advanced institute depends on outstanding capability

    We have a proper educational philosophy : “to build a modernized institute; and  to cultivate well rounded and talented people”.

    We have excellent teaching conditions: in terms of the teaching facilities , they have already / nearly been up to standard of the relevant national regulations. After the investigation of the institutes of Arabic around the country in regard to their facilities and administration , officers of higher authorities concerned and our colleagues sincerely expressed their commendation by saying  “the teaching conditions of Kaiyuan institute of Arabic are first-class, we feel confident of teaching in such institute, it has been playing a leading role in spreading and studying the Islamic culture in Yunnan province.”

    We have reliable administration: our motto is “to be the number one in performing individual tasks; and to be first-class in performing overall tasks” .  The quantity and quality of the enrollment is ensured, resulting in the gradual annual increase of the enrollment , and in the student source that are not only mainly from secondary school graduates but also partially from university graduates. In terms of the establishment of the specialized courses, in addition to the focus of the religious and Arabic courses, we established some courses that are in high demand so as to enhance the students’ activity and freedom in their study. In terms of  the after-graduation arrangement for the graduated students, the institute has established long-term and stable cooperative relationships with a few foreign universities, some of the excellent graduates will be introduced by the institute to study abroad . Some of them will be introduced to mosques as imams, or to institutes of Arabic as teachers, serving the Islamic cultural and educational undertakings,  the Muslim communities and the construction of “ two civilizations” (material and spiritual civilization ).

    To love Islam as well as our country is the consistent principle of kaiyuan institute of Arabic, to make our institute famous and outstanding is the common voice of Kaiyuan institute of Arabic.

    With the care of officers of various ranks , under the leadership of the mosque committee , and with the generous support of Muslim communities , Kaiyuan institute of Arabic has both determination and confidence in turning the institute into a cultivation base for talented Muslims , which has distinguished features of Islamic nations and characters of the times, and  into a cradle of talented people for the rapid development of Islam.

数字化时代，还是让我们以数字说话

    开远阿专座落在美丽的滇南重镇开远市，我校前身为清真寺学校。创建于1979年，于1999年7月经当地政府同意更名为开远阿拉伯语中等专业学校。现有4个教学班，在校生120余人：学生不仅遍布整个云南，而且来自于全国的新疆、黑龙江、青海，河北、山东、广西、湖北、湖南、宁夏、四川、海南安徽等17省市。现有综合教学大楼1栋，可容纳6个教学班；学生宿舍两栋；图书室1个,达70多平方米；电脑室1个,有计算机20台；多功能会议模拟室1个，一切会议及学术研讨在此举行。学校因特网、校园网和电话网构筑起四通八达的信息立交桥，师生可通过这个大容量的信息平台自由浏览和学习，翱翔于风光无限的网络世界，吸取丰富的营养。
    创办于2000年元旦的校刊《伊兰园》，迄今为止共发行了27期，从第一期的4版扩增到今天的12版，内容集知识性、趣味性和可读性为一体，富于时代气息和深刻思想内涵，很受全国穆斯林的喜爱，发行量也从最初的500份增加到今天的13000份，读者遍布了全国30多个省、市、自治区。
    2000年11月份，学校建起了自己的网站“开远阿专”，把学校推向世界，在透明状态下，检验学校的办学水平和实力。网络提升了创新观念的速度，更为学校工作持续、全面、快速地发展提供了澎湃永恒的原动力。
    清真寺旧式屋顶的建筑古朴典雅，雄浑的风格透释着浓浓的伊斯兰气息。在错落有致的高楼之间，绿树、花卉的点缀下，两座教师公寓更是显露着浓浓的文化氛围。两个院内天井, 为学生的生活开辟了宽阔的空间 。清洁高雅的清真寺, 处处体现着 “环境育人”的思想和意境。

铸就名校，全靠实干取胜

    马利古，年届而立不惑之间，他曾留学并毕业于沙特阿拉伯利雅得伊玛目大学，后又继续到巴基斯坦国立真纳大学攻读阿拉伯语文学硕士学位。97年留学归来后，全面负责学校工作，并借鉴各国宗教管理及学校管理的先进经验，先后提出了“自我育人”理念、“做阿专人，宏扬阿专精神”等治校方略。凭借敏捷的思路、超前的理念，在他上任不到5年的时间当中，省内外已有30多所清真寺和经学院、阿语学校的校长及管理人员慕名来校参观。马校长管理学校的基本准则是：你能翻多大的跟头，就给你搭多大的舞台。任人唯贤，创新唯上。

档案履历，记载着我们的辉煌

    我校是1979年党的民族宗教政策落实后的第一批清真寺学校之一，并于1999年顺利通过开远市政府的审核和同意, 更名为“开远阿拉伯语中等专业学校”；是全国阿拉伯语学校和清真寺学校中唯一一所同时拥有网站与校刊两大传媒的学校，使学校成了名副其实的“互联网上的开远阿专”。
    建校的三年来，已推荐、派出留学生共17人，其中沙特阿拉伯3人，也门1人，叙利亚5人，巴基斯坦5人，伊朗2人，泰国1人。
    我们有优秀的中青年教师队伍，其中:1人是沙特阿拉伯大学学士及巴基斯坦大学硕士；1位是甘肃省著名的阿訇；1人是巴基斯坦大专毕业生；3人是叙利亚大专毕业生；此外，还有从国立学校聘请来的专业人士，担任英语、汉语、电脑等专业代课老师，所有老师都是年富力强的中青年。
    我们有锐意改革创新的年轻校长和团结奋进高效的领导班子。我们的清真寺管委会及穆斯林大众，我们的校长、我们的老师、我们的奉献精神，构筑了名校的最基本要素。

强校风范，全凭实力超群

    我们的办学思想过硬：建现代化学校，育复合型人才。
    我们的办学条件过硬：各项教学设施已经或者将要达到国家有关教学设施的规范要求。上级有关领导及学校同仁在考察了全省各阿校的硬件设施及管理后，曾由衷地赞叹："开远阿专的办学条件是一流的，在这样的学校里办学我们十分放心，它她是我们云南伊斯兰文化教育宣传与学习的带动点。"
    我们的管理水平过硬：我们的口号是：单项工作争第一，全面工作创一流。招生工作保质保量，人数逐年上升，不仅大部分为高中生，而且还有一部分为大学生；专业设置方面，既注重骨干专业宗教课与阿拉伯语的优势互补性，又积极开办热门专业，提高学生们学习的积极性与自由度。在毕业生安置方面，学校与几个国外大学建立了长期稳定的合作关系，部分优秀毕业生由校方推荐出国留学，部分由校方推荐到清真寺任教长、阿訇，或到阿语学校任老师，服务于伊斯兰文化教育事业，服务于穆斯林群众，服务于“两个文明建设”。
   “爱国、爱教”是阿专人一贯的思想，“建名校、成强校”是全体阿专人的共同心声，开远阿专有决心、有信心在各级领导的关怀下，在清真寺管委会的领导以及穆斯林大众的大力支持下，把学校办成富有民族特色和时代气息的穆斯林人才培育基地，伊斯兰腾飞的人才摇篮！
